
Peter started his working life in the commercial fishing and diving industries. He served more than ten years with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as Coxswain/Helmsman before transferring to The Balearics. For the last 22 years, Peter has owned and managed a marine engineering and yacht rigging business in North Mallorca.
He is a qualified Skipper, Marine Engineer, and Yacht Rigger, and holds numerous qualifications in related areas of expertise, such as RYA YachtMaster, marine diesel engine maintenance and diagnostics, marine generators, and yacht rigging and has provided warranty services to many well-known modern powerboat and yacht brands.
Peter has owned 12 vessels, including commercial fishing and diving boats, pleasure craft and an offshore sailing yacht. All have been restored and maintained personally and have helped Peter to log over 10,000 nautical miles.
He is a fully insured and practising marine surveyor qualified by and a member of the International Institute for Marine Surveying (IIMS) with a deep knowledge of small craft construction and the marine pleasure craft industry.
Peter has managed various yacht and motorboat refits, including various classic yachts, from both a hands-on and a managerial level. His history with the RNLI has helped instil respect for safety at sea, resulting in a keen eye for issues that may later become life threatening.
The IIMS demands the highest professional standards from its member surveyors, guarantees that its members are fully insured and that their work complies with its strict codes of conduct.
